Man Mo Temple

Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan was built between 1847 and 1862 by wealthy Chinese merchants. It is dedicated to the god of literature, Man Cheong, and the god of war, Mo Tai. Thick spiral incense coils hang from the ceiling inside, smouldering for weeks and giving the hall a dense, atmospheric character. It is one of Hong Kong's oldest and best-known temples.
