Victoria Peak, known locally simply as "The Peak", rises about 552 metres and is the highest point on Hong Kong Island. Since 1888 the historic Peak Tram has carried visitors up the steep slope in just a few minutes. From the summit, views stretch across the skyscrapers of Central, Victoria Harbour and, on clear days, all the way to Kowloon. Walking trails such as the Peak Circle Walk let visitors enjoy the scenery from several angles.
